About

Hi there πŸ‘‹πŸ»  my name is Sierra Alice, welcome to my cozy little nook in the mossy foothills of the central Oregon Coast.

Growing up in the concrete jungle of central Florida with strip malls and pavement for as far as the eye could see, my only respite was in the climbing of trees. On a soul deep level I knew that wandering elsewhere was in my very bones. At 20 years old I found myself wandering into the damp coniferous forests of the PNW and knew, this is where my life will be lived. I now reside on occupied territory of the Salish-Chinook province in so called Oregon.

This is where we learned to wander, my black lab Nox & I. No trails to follow beside those made by the elk and no real destination beside seeing everything we could possibly notice. Noses to the forest floor we quickly became enamored with fungi. As a horticulture sstudent, I was already fascinated by the light eaters, the growing green world, but what about the other side of the coin of life? What about the decomposer?

My art aims to bring the human people back into seeing themselves as wildlife, back into communion with the more than human world. Blurring the lines of separation and holding value in both sides of this coin of life. Growth & decay and the whole cycle that is so lovely to be part of.

Thank you for being here with me on this lil corner of the internet πŸƒπŸŒΌπŸ„πŸ«ΆπŸ»
